Our New Year’s Day Dip is back! 

Shake off the excess of Christmas and make a fresh start to the New Year by taking a chilly dip at Crawfordsburn Beach.

Join us at NOON for an invigorating, fun-filled swim and help us raise much needed funds for Cancer Focus NI.

Fancy dress is encouraged- there will be a prize for the best outfit!

  • Registration – £15

    Car parking – Car parking is available in Crawfordsburn Country Park beside the Visitors Centre and near the beach.

    What to bring – You can dip in a swimming costume, a wetsuit or even fancy dress- there will be a prize for the best fancy dress outfit!

    Please bring a change of clothes and a towel for after the dip e.g. a hat, gloves, warm socks/boots and windproof layer. We would especially encourage everyone to wear a hat as it will help with preventing heat loss.

  • Mass Dip – The mass dip will take place at exactly NOON – make sure you’re at the beach ready to go by 11:45 am as there will be a brief safety announcement before the dip commences.

    After the dip – There are toilets, changing facilities and a café at the Visitor Centre.

    Sponsorship – Any sponsorship money that you have collected can be brought with you on the day or alternatively you can send it into our office at 40-44 Eglantine Avenue after the event.

  • Health & Safety Information

    – Get in slowly starting from the feet

    – Bring warm drink, sugary snacks, hat, towel, blanket & warm clothes

    – Get dry ASAP, wrap up warm

    – Be aware of others and recognise symptoms of hypothermia, act accordingly and go to the ambulance staff if severe symptoms become evident.
