Over 1000 unite in colourful show of support for local breast cancer services at annual Pink Run

The Titanic Slipways were awash with colour on Sunday 13 October as over 1000 runners covered themselves head-to-toe in powder for Cancer Focus NI’s famous annual Pink Run, proudly sponsored by Dale Farm Sukie.

The event, now in its ninth year, saw participants complete a non-competitive 5km fun run through Belfast’s iconic Titanic Quarter. Open to all ages and abilities with men, women, children and even pets taking part.

Organised as part of the charity’s wider breast cancer awareness month campaign, proceeds from the sponsored run will go towards funding local breast cancer support services such as counselling, support groups, and specialist bra and swimwear fitting.

Speaking about the Pink Run, Maeve Colgan, Director, Fundraising and Communications, Cancer Focus NI, said:

“Year on year we are overwhelmed by how many people come together to be covered in pink powder for a fantastic cause. Helping us to raise awareness of breast cancer and our complimentary support services, over 1000 runners, volunteers, and supporters came together this year to fundraise for our charity. I’d like to thank everyone who has taken part, especially our wonderful headline sponsors Dale Farm Sukie, and would encourage people and businesses across Northern Ireland to Go Pink throughout October and help us reach even more local women and families with our vital services. Just £58 will pay for a one-hour consultation with a Bra and Swimwear Fitting Specialist or Counsellor, helping give a woman back her confidence after treatment or surgery.”

Sharon Campbell, Head of Marketing at Dale Farm, said:

“The energy and atmosphere at the Pink Run were absolutely fantastic, with an incredible turnout of participants all coming together for such a worthy cause. It was inspiring to see families, friends, and even pets joining in the fun and supporting Cancer Focus NI’s vital breast cancer services. We hope everyone enjoyed a refreshing Sukie drink at the end of the race.

“At Dale Farm, it is our mission to share goodness in our local communities, so we are proud to have been part of this amazing event to further our support for the amazing work Cancer Focus NI do in the local community. The money raised will help to make a real difference in the lives of local people facing breast cancer. Congratulations to everyone who took part and made the day such a memorable success.”
