Cancer Waits in 2023: A Year in Review

With the first 2024 cancer waiting times due out at the end of the month, Cancer Focus Northern Ireland reflects on the cancer waiting times seen in 2023. These waits are some of the worst on record, with only 30% of people starting treatments within 62 days of an urgent referral for suspected cancer in the final quarter of 2023. Solutions have been discussed for years; NI needs to get to action on and invest in the strategies, reports, and ambition already present.
