The Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon have launched its first ever virtual race as the 39th marathon couldn’t take place on Sunday 3rd May 2020 due to Covid-19. In the meantime, to keep people motivated and to raise some much needed funds for Cancer Focus Northern Ireland, a virtual marathon has been created!
What is a Virtual Run?
Participants are encouraged to walk, jog or run the distance of 26.2 miles across a number of days/weeks (safely and following government advice on social distancing) before 30th June 2020. Final entry deadline is midnight Fri 19th June.

Manual entries will need to be emailed directly to the Marathon Office (info@belfastmarathon.org). Final official results will be available on the Belfast City Marathon website in early July 2020.
All participant will receive their medal once the results have been published.
How much to take part?
The entry fee is £15.00 and will include a medal and complimentary Cancer Focus Northern Ireland T-shirt.
Now more than ever Cancer Focus NI needs your support! Help us to save the charity so we can continue to deliver vital services to cancer patients and their families, across Northern Ireland during these uncertain times.
Covid-19 has had a devastating impact on Cancer Focus NI – it has paused most of our services for people affected by cancer, postponed all of our fundraising events and closed our 13 retail stores. As 90% of our income comes from fundraising, our funds are at a seriously low level- that’s why we need you!
Please, help #SaveourServices and #MakeitCount for Cancer Focus NI by taking part in the Belfast City Virtual Marathon Distance Run.
