Developed by Cancer Focus Northern Ireland, the choir was established for anyone affected by cancer.
Based in Belfast, the charity’s patient support choir service provides members with the opportunity to meet others living with, or affected by cancer. Coming together in a supportive and friendly environment, members learn new skills in choral signing while having fun along the way.
Special Guests – Michelle Baird
Michelle Baird is an award winning, highly versatile singer with broad experience in performing in Concerts & Theatre, at Weddings, Charity and Corporate Events.
She received training at London’s Royal Academy of Music with West End vocal coaches Mary King and Ann James, at the Ulster College of Music, New Zealand National Singing School and with local tutor Rob Anderson.
Megan Boyd is the accompanist with the Sing for Life choir. Megan completed a BMus and MA in Music at Queen’s University, Belfast and works in the arts sector both as a pianist and in the field of arts administration.
Keith Acheson is an Irish composer and conductor based in Belfast. After obtaining a BMus (Hons) in 1996 he was awarded a PhD in Composition from the Ulster University in 2002.
Recent highlights have ranged from conducting the Irish première of Kim André Arnesen’s ‘Requiem for Solace’ with the Fermanagh Choral Society in 2024, as well as the Fauré and Goodall requiems this year, and conducting the Sing for Life Choir in a performance alongside the award-winning and Grammy-nominated group, Celtic Woman.
