Recently immunotherapy has brought very welcomed advances to the treatment of lung cancer and malignant melanoma; previously both cancers had few treatment options and a high mortality rate.
There are some indicators that this treatment, with adaptation, may be successfully used to treat to oesophageal and pancreatic cancers. If successful, this new immunotherapy research project has the potential to save lives here in Northern Ireland and across the world.
