Breast Cancer Retreats

Need help with your cancer journey?

When a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer, they may experience feelings of shock, anger, or confusion. Even the most supportive family members, friends, or employers cannot understand exactly how it feels to go through a cancer journey.

A retreat is one way for individuals to interact with other people in similar circumstances.

Upcoming Retreats:

  • 4 to 6 April 2025, Sandhill House, Dunfanaghy, Co. Donegal
  • 17 to 19 October 2025, Sandhill House, Dunfanaghy, Co. Donegal

What to expect?

Cancer Focus NI’s Spring and Autumn Retreats are designed for younger women, aged below 50, who have had a breast cancer diagnosis.

The Retreat is designed to give women an opportunity to take some time away from the responsibilities of home, recharge and relax, and be in the company of other women who have some understanding of the challenges of a breast cancer diagnosis.

Activities include:

  • Yoga and movement
  • Forest bathing and mindfulness
  • Beach and forest walking
  • Healthy eating
  • Creative sessions
Joanne Jones, Client at Cancer Focus NI

“The retreat was incredible. It was so nice to get back to something just for me, and to share it with other girls.  We were all at different stages, some like me post-surgery, others waiting for results.  In the surroundings of the retreat, we all felt that we could talk about anything, with no judgment, no fear of opening up, and no need to hold back – it was such therapy!”
